A Little Bit About Patricia's Case: 

On or about February 16, 1959, 12-year-olds Patricia Lupton, Brenda Walker and Lucy Novak and 11-year-old Maureen Monaghan, friends and neighbors in the Toronto suburb of Scarborough, saw a notice posted on the bulletin board at the A & P supermarket then located at Kennedy Park Shopping Plaza, at Kennedy Road and Eglinton Avenue East. The notice called for "applications from babysitters": the girls, having all had experience babysitting for their neighbors, put their names, addresses and phone numbers on the accompanying list. (Patricia, Brenda and Maureen were trying to save up $20 apiece to go to Camp Sherbourne, near Bolton, Ont., the following summer.) Three weeks later, on March 9th, Patricia  received a call from a man answering the ad. This man, identifying himself as "Mr. Johnson," said that he and his wife were going to visit their ailing infant son in hospital, and therefore needed a babysitter for their slightly-older son. (Brenda, at this time, was bedridden with the flu and Maureen's line was busy; Lucy was never called.) Patricia agreed to come to Kennedy Park Drugs, in the same plaza, where "Mrs. Johnson" would pick her up. With her love of small children in general, Patricia had become highly regarded both by the children she'd babysat in the past and by their parents: therefore her own parents, Albert and Bridget Lupton, felt safe letting her accept the job. Nonetheless, when she left home at 6:20 to keep the appointment, she agreed to check in with them upon reaching the address. By seven o'clock Patricia had failed to call. Four hours later, on the CBC-TV news, her anxious family learned that she had been found dead at about 7:20 in a snowbank on McCowan Road, less than two miles from her home. She had been strangled with her own scarf; though she was not sexually assaulted, the somewhat-disarrayed state of her clothing, plus bruises to both her knees, made it probable that sexual assault had been attempted.

The next day, upon learning of her friend's violent death, Maureen Monaghan gave up babysitting. Also that same day, Ontario's then-Attorney-General, Kelso Roberts, asked supermarket chains to ban babysitting ads from their bulletin boards. Patricia's death fed already-high public outrage in a city which had seen the several horrific and unsolved murder cases between 1947 and 1956.

Details of Investigation Provided by the Toronto Police Service:
On Monday, March 9, 1959, at about 7:05 p.m., police responded to an emergency call on McCowan Road south of Ellesmere Road. The victim was discovered off the roadway, suffering from medical trauma. Despite life-saving efforts by emergency personnel, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators believe the victim was last seen alive leaving her residence en route to Kennedy Park Plaza sometime after 5:30 p.m.

Susan Cadieux - Lured To Her Death At 5 Years Old - Still Unsolved

A Little Bit About Susan's Case: 

On Friday, January 6, 1956 at about 7:15pm, 5-year-old Susan Cadieux was playing in the schoolyard of St Mary's School located at 345 Lyle St with her older brothers and another girl from the neighbourhood.  The Cadieux family lived across the road at 665 York St, not far from the school.

At approximately 7:45pm, a man approached the group and spoke with Susan who relayed to the other children that the man was goingto give her something.

The male also told them that he was supposed to meet with the St. Mary's church priest and stated that he lived on York St. as he pointed his finger towards King St.

When the children got distracted by a nearby fall on the ice, the male walked away with Susan.

By 8:00pm, Susan's brothers ran home to tell their parents what had happened and a search for Susan began.  The London Police Force became involved in the search by about 9:30pm that night and by 1:30am on the morning of January 7, over 300 people were searching for Susan.

At 10:08am, Susan Cadieux's fully clothed body was found at the rear of Roy James Construction located at 609 William St. alongside the CPR spur line.

He was  described as white, 30-40 years old, tall, thin, and unshaven.  He was wearing a light brown overcoat which was unbuttoned, unbuckled black galoshes that flapped openly, and a dark Russian style or army Melton hat with ear flaps.

Susan was playing in the playground of St Mary's School on the southwest corner of Lyle St at King St. Her body was found approximately 9 blocks to the north west at 609 William St near the northwest corner of Central Ave at William St.

A Little Bit About Helen's Case:

Helen Gillings was a 19 year old Hamilton resident known to frequent the area of King and Emerald Street in Hamilton. She was distinguished by her petite size and long straight dark hair. Helen Gillings worked in the sex trade and is said to frequent a bar at the corner where King and Emerald Street North meet called the Straw Hat. . At approximately 5:00 pm Friday February 17, 1995 her body was found in an alley at the rear of 483 King Street East in Hamilton. She was naked and stuffed beneath an overturned couch in the dark and dirty alley behind a King Street East apartment building, a short walk from the bar. She had been strangled. She was only 19 years old. It is unclear if she was killed in the alley or if her body was dumped there. She was last seen alive entering this alley with a male at approximately 1:00 am Thursday February 16, 1995. 

A Little Bit About Helen: 

Her life was never easy. She was born in Kenora, Ontario and was adopted by the Gillings family when she was four years old - along with her younger sister. The siblings were raised, along with the Gillings own son, in the small farm town of Sundre, Alberta, 100 km north of Calgary.

Helen was bright. She loved animals and drawing, but not school. By 12, she was rebellious and had run away from home several times. By the tender age of 14, she was living on the street. Helen's adoptive parents were not Indigenous. In that time there wasn't the resources and support where they lived that they have now, but her parents loved Helen and tried their best.

When she turned 16, Helen moved to Toronto where she met Jerry, who was five years older. They moved to Hamilton together in 1994 into a place on Wilson Street, just before their first daughter was born. Neighbours said when Helen arrived, she was petite and pretty, with long, shiny hair and big dark eyes. She usually wore a sweatsuit and was pleasant to talk to. But life wore her down quickly and she aged before their eyes. Jerry once told 'The Spectator' that Helen had 'turned her life around', however Hamilton Police Service and various neighbours saw she was working in the sex trade.

Jerry and Helen had been evicted from their apartment for not paying the rent. A neighbour claimed to see a man throw Helen out of an apartment lobby where she had gone to get warm. "She landed face down in the gutter and the guy just walked around her," the neighbour said. On Jan. 26, 1995, Helen had a second daughter. She was born prematurely, weighing just three and a half pounds. St. Joseph's Hospital kept her there. Less than a month later, Helen would be murdered. Heher family did not come to Hamilton for her funeral. Her newborn baby was still in the hospital and her first born child was just two years old. Both of her daughters were eventually adopted.

The Abduction Of Jermaine Allan Mann - LOCATED!

An exciting update on the Jermaine Allan Mann case!

For Lyneth Mann-Lewis, life was never the same after June 24, 1987. A piece of her heart was just gone. Her baby - just a few months shy of his second birthday - was abducted by his father. Her former husband could not accept the fact that Lyneth had been granted sold custody of Jermaine so he stole him during a court-ordered visit. Jermaine was abducted by his noncustodial father, Allan Mann Jr., from Toronto, Ontario on June 24, 1987. A Canadian warrant for his father's arrest was issued the same day of the abduction. In 1982,

Jamaican-born Lyneth and Ghana-born Allan were married. Three years later, on September 6, 1985, their son Jermaine Allan Mann was born. Soon after his birth their relationship began to deteriorate. Lyneth and Allan were separated in 1986. A custody battle ensued over Jermaine and Lyneth was eventually granted sole custody, with Allan being allowed weekend visitation rights. The couple divorced shortly after the custody battle began. The following year Lyneth wanted to visit family in Jamaica for a holiday and was granted permission from the courts to take Jermaine with her. This decision meant that Allan got an extra weekend visitation with Jermaine prior to Lyneth's departure. Lyneth dropped Jermaine off at a court-approved third party location where Jermaine was picked up by his father. It is thought that Allan Mann seized this opportunity to abduct Jermaine. Lyneth has never seen him or her son again. Immediately following the 1987 abduction, the Toronto Police Department began an extensive investigation. Allan had implied that he might return to Ghana but the investigation revealed that this was unlikely. Jermaine was not located and all known leads were exhausted. The trail went cold. It is thought that Allan and Jermaine are in North America, possibly in the New York area.

John has been seen by his brother in the Bloor and Spadina area of Toronto, in the summer of 1980, and is believed to be living on the streets. An extensive and continuing investigation by the Guelph Police Service has failed to locate him.

On the evening of July 18th, 1944, Richard Marlow went missing and has never been found, nor his body recovered. The small, shy boy was riding his bicycle in front of his house on Beta Street, Etobicoke, with his brother inside the house. The bike was found at the house when Richard's mother returned home that evening but Richard had vanished. Etobicoke Police conducted a search, as did the army militia, with no results. Richard was a good child at home and in school, with no reason to run away.

Alexandra’s car was later that evening by police. She has not been seen since. Alexandra may have been distraught and upset at the time. When she was last seen, Alexandra was wearing Jacket – black in colour, ¾ quarter length, leather, Sweater – red, Pants – black Spandex pants, Footwear – black with a 2-inch heel, Necklace – gold necklace with a ruby, Watch – ‘Seiko’ brand watch & Purse – black leather purse.

A Little Bit About Ricky's Case: 

At the time of his disappearance, Ricky was living in Brantford. He was last seen by family on

Clench Avenue. In September 1975, Ricky enrolled in the Graphic Arts Program at the Oakville campus of Sheridan College. According to a recent inquiry from police, administrators at Sheridan College confirmed that Ricky did not continue his studies after January 1976.

Shortly after Ricky went missing, his family reported him missing to police. While the original file has not been located, the Brantford Police took a replacement missing person report in 2016. Ricky has not been in contact with family or friends since the fall of 1975. The date of the disappearance listed above should be considered as an estimate only. Ricky’s family and police would like to speak with anyone who knows of his current whereabouts or who had contact with Ricky since his disappearance.

A Little Bit About Dana Zelic
Dana Zelic disappeared from her residence on August 30, 1999. She lived with her mother in an east-end Hamilton apartment. Her mother last saw Dana sleeping in her bedroom at 2:30 a.m., August 30, 1999. When her mother woke later that morning, Dana was gone, leaving behind money and all her clothes. She left without any medication, identification or personal belongings.

Dana has had connections to the Greater Toronto and Brooklyn, NY areas and the police were told she might have gone to Brooklyn but they found no proof she crossed the border.

Dana was shown in a September 17, 1999 Spectator photo, walking in a Take Back the Night march. In August 2000 she called a male friend in Hamilton, who had no idea she was missing. She told her friend she was living in Mississauga. In 2002, one of Dana's old girlfriends called police and said she had seen the young woman at Chapters. Despite these sightings, she has not been located.

Dana was born and raised in Hamilton, along with her younger brother, she was a "so-so" student who enjoyed drama, had a good number of friends and a love of books. Dana graduated from Delta Secondary School and took a few years off to travel. Dana did enroll in a tourism program at a downtown vocational school. She lived with a boyfriend for a while, but when that didn't work out, she moved back into her mother's small east-Hamilton apartment. Dana had plans to get her own place, at the time of her disappearance.

Police checks have failed to locate Dana Zelic's whereabouts. Police are concerned for her well being.

A Little About Sheryl Sheppard

Sheryl was born and raised in Hamilton, Ontario and attended Notre Dame High School until grade 10. She married at 21 but the marriage lasted less than six months. A second marriage lasted one year. Sheryl worked at Tim Horton's at Sanford Avenue North and Cannon Street East in Hamilton since it opened September 1997. Her fiance proposed to her live on Hamilton's television station ONtv on New Year's Eve, she accepted a marriage proposal this television appearance is believed to be the last time anyone saw her. Friends say the two had dated for about two years, and he had moved into the apartment with Sheryl and her mother - Odette Fisher - a few months before. Lavoie claimed to have dropped her off at the Concord Hotel in Niagara Falls for a dancing job on January 2, but police say she never arrived at the hotel. The Concord manager said she was never scheduled to work his establishment and he has never seen her. Sheryl had reportedly stopped dancing approximately 6 years before going missing.

Friends and family say she had a stormy and abusive relationship with Michael Lavoie. She was supposed to have picked up her mother at the Pearson Airport January 4, but she never showed up. A check of her apartment turned up her wallet and identification. Foul play is believed to have occurred. Her fiancé, Michael Lavoie was found in a storage locker with his car running. He was treated and released from Henderson Hospital. In 2008 Lavoie was named the person of interest by the head of the Homicide Unit, Staff Sergeant Ian Matthews.

In 2011 the Sheryl Sheppard case also received some publicity for increasing the reward from $10,000 to $50,000 for tips leading to a conviction.
